Does the washing machine jump and jump during washing? There may be several reasons. Much depends on the life of the washer, the place of its installation, and proper operation. This problem needs to be solved immediately, because today a lot of noise interferes with you, and tomorrow the inlet hoses may come off, which will lead to a flood in the room.
After reading the article, you will learn how to diagnose and fix the problem with your own hands.
Causes of SMA Vibration
If a new washing machine, recently installed, vibrates and jumps, the reason may be:
- In transport bolts. These are the protective bolts that are installed to secure the tank. Thus, it is protected from damage during transport. If the bolts are not removed on time, the main parts begin to wear out, the machine makes noise and staggers during the spin cycle. The bolts are located on the rear panel, you can pull them out yourself.
Save the shipping bolts. When moving, they can be replaced.
- If the washing machine shakes and shifts during washing, the reason may be in the wrong installation. When the equipment is installed on a wooden floor, it sags over time. Check if the machine is staggering in the off state. If so, the point is installation.
- Why does the washer jump, twitch, and jump on the floor? Improper operation leads to imbalance. An overloaded drum will vibrate violently during the spin cycle. And if you put large things, they can go astray on one side of the drum.
Modern cars have imbalance protection. But it is better to stop washing, drain the water and evenly distribute the laundry. - It happens that a small object gets into the space between the tank and the drum. You can detect it by scrolling the drum by hand. Try to get an object by bending the hatch of the hatch. If it was not possible to do this, you need to remove the heater and seize the item through its hole.
Which models vibrate most often
Each time, manufacturers are improving the design of washing machines, trying to reduce the noise level. The drum spins at high speed during spinning, so natural vibrations are simply inevitable. Most jumped:
- Narrow built-in washers. Due to the narrow body, the supporting part is reduced, therefore, if the machine is poorly fixed or built-in, it will move along the floor in the bathroom.
- SMA with metal tanks also rattles during operation.
When buying, pay attention to the mounting methods of the washing machine, as well as the materials of its construction.
Technical issues and troubleshooting
The causes of vibration of the washing machine may be more serious malfunctions.
Bearings - rumble, rumble, jumping
When the drum bearings are already worn out, it is impossible not to notice. A noise is heard, the car thunders and jumps. To verify the malfunction will help such a check:
- Open the hatch door and rotate the drum by hand. Noticed non-uniform rotation? The drum may be spinning with difficulty. So, it's about the bearings.
- Shake the drum with your hand up and down. If he moves far from the tank, forming a backlash, the bearings are worn out.
It is difficult to replace the bearings on their own, because you need to completely disassemble the washer. But it is necessary to do this, otherwise the shaft and then the tank of the machine will begin to wear out. As a result, you will have to buy new equipment.
How to perform the replacement of bearings in different brands of SMA, we wrote in previous articles.
Counterweight - knock
Concrete counterweights are attached to the tank to damp vibrations. Counterweights rarely fail. The reasons for their failure can be loose mounting or a split concrete base.
If the counterweight is defective, you hear a knock while the SM is in operation. You can confirm the guess as follows:
- Remove the upper case by unscrewing the screws from the back.
- Depending on the model of the washer, the counterweights can be mounted on top, front or back.
- Inspect their mounts, tighten if necessary.
- If the counterweight falls apart, he needs a replacement.
Replace the counterweight in the reverse order.
Shock absorbers and dampers - tank subsidence
These two parts also serve to dampen vibrations, soften the jumps of the tank during the spin cycle. Shock absorbers were installed on older SMA models, almost all modern cars are equipped with dampers.
You can check their serviceability by removing the front or rear panel:
- Press the tank with your hand. If he quickly fell into place, then everything is in order with the springs. If the tank begins to dangle, inspect the parts.
- Below the tank are dampers. Inspect them. If a breakdown occurs, two parts must be replaced at once.
- Unscrew the bottom mount of the part to the body.
- Fasten the damper sleeve at the top with a nut to neutralize the latches.
- Pull out the bushing with pliers. Install a new part.
Along with shock absorbers, springs work on which the tank hangs. They fasten it by hooks from above. Over time, the springs can stretch and lose elasticity. They need to be replaced only in pairs.
Engine - rocking cars
The electric motor can also cause strong vibrations of the washing machine during operation. Most often this happens due to loosening of the mounting bolts. You need to remove the back panel and inspect the engine. The fixing bolts must be adjusted and secured.
If the reason is not in the bolts, it is better to contact the wizard for a detailed diagnosis of the device.
How to fix the washing machine if it jumps
How to install the car so that it does not jump? The wash should be installed on a flat, not slippery floor, otherwise it will constantly move. What to do:
- Level the surface, put a special mat or sheet of chipboard, fiberboard. An additional backing is especially necessary if the floor is wooden.
- You can adjust the uniform touch of the surface of all legs using the level.
- Put special anti-vibration pads on the legs. Set the feet to the desired height.
Having found out the reason for the strong shaking of the washing machine, do not let things go by their own. If you cannot solve the problem yourself, call the wizard.
