Hannah Carver, a resident of Gosport (Hampshire, UK), has been trying for a long time to fight a badger, who frequented her house to enjoy the contents of her refrigerator.
Waking up one morning, Hannah found a terrible mess in her kitchen: the contents of the garbage can were scattered on the floor, the refrigerator was open, and most of the products from it turned into scraps left by an unknown "criminal". As it turned out later, the "night thief" was a badger. The hostess managed to find out only after installing a security camera in the kitchen. An uninvited guest made his way through the cathole into the house at nightfall and ate sweets from the refrigerator to the fullest.
The animal was not picky about food. It ate almost everything that came in its way: beans, chops, vegetables, mashed potatoes and even ice cream. But this is not surprising, because badgers are omnivorous animals, so they do not sort out food.
With her problem, Hannah decided to contact the Gosport City Council. But officials could not help her with anything, since the badger is a protected species and is listed in the Red Book. Therefore, the hostess had to solve the problem on her own: she installed special locks on the refrigerator, and began to clean the trash can overnight.
Hannah hopes that the badger will soon realize that food is no longer available, and will no longer go to her house. Although the animal is not at all aggressive towards humans, the hostess doesn’t want her kids or pets to meet an intruder once in the middle of the night.
